Daryl Wise

Daryl Wise –Public Relations and Community Outreach dsw@StreetWisePR.com Daryl has a deep commitment to helping his community. He has worked for the Santa Cruz Parks and Recreation Department where he worked in Parks, Kids Programs, Civic Auditorium, Special Events and Senior programs. He has also worked for the Capitola Parks Department and Watsonville Parks and Community Services in the kids programs at Freedom Elementary School. Professionally, Daryl is an independent public relations, marketing communications and event contractor for over 25 years. He has worked for international, regional and local clients including: Macworld Expos, the artist Peter Max, HP, Corel, Marine Artist Wyland, Microsoft, Bill Graham Presents, The City of Watsonville, Laguna Seca Raceway, Curious Labs, MTV Sports Festival, O'Neill Inc., Rogers and Cowan Public Relations, Shandwick Convergence Public Relations, The Sea Otter Classic, Pixelmator, e frontier America, Ambient Design, Virtual Venues Network, Diamond Organics, Gluon, Thomson-Course Technologies, Wisdomark, LatinReps, Meals on Wheels of Santa Cruz County and the Catalyst Nightclub.

Ana Hurtado

Ana was born and raised in Watsonville, attended Watsonville PVUSD schools K-12 (Go Catz!). She later attended UC Berkeley where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies Field (ISF) with a focus on Urban Planning. Ana returned to Watsonville after graduating and has been involved in the community as a chair, vice-chair and commissioner of the City of Watsonville Parks & Recreation commission 2013-2020; Ana is also a founding board member of the Monterey Bay chapter of the UC Berkeley Chicanx/Latinx Alumni Association. In her spare time, Ana has enjoyed coaching club volleyball with the Watsonville Starlings and dancing folklorico with Watsonville’s Corazon En Flor dance group of which she has been a member for over 20 years.

Maria Orozco

Maria is a graduate from Santa Clara University with degrees in Pre-law, Political Science, and Communications with a Certificate from the California School Board Association Masters in Governance Program. Maria Orozco was elected to serve on the Pajaro Valley Unified School Board of Trustees at the age of 24. She has served on several Santa Cruz County boards and commissions including the Watsonville Parks & Recreation Commission, the Community Action Board of Directors, the Women’s Commission of Santa Cruz County among others; Maria is also the founding board President for the Watsonville Parks and Community Services Nonprofit & Founding Board Member for the Pajaro Valley Education Foundation. Maria works as a Senior Adviser and Communication Specialist for the Financial Aid Department at the University of California Santa Cruz, where she has been a proponent of higher education for all.

Paco Estrada

Francisco “Paco” Estrada was born and raised in Watsonville, where he spent his youth helping his family grow raspberries and playing soccer with his friends at local parks and schools. Paco attended PVUSD schools and completed his undergraduate studies at UC Santa Cruz. After completing his graduate work at San Jose State, Paco worked at the County Office of Education, the Community Health Trust at Pajaro Valley, Hartnell College, and FoodWhat. His passion and support for more accessable youth programming, climate justice, affordable housing, and in uplifting community served as the basis for a successful electoral run in 2018. In 2019, Paco had the honor of serving his hometown as the mayor. As a board member, Paco continues to support access to shared open and green spaces for all people living in the Pajaro Valley.

Paul De Worken

Paul is a lifelong resident of Watsonville. He attended PVUSD schools from K-12. He is a graduate of Watsonville High School, Cabrillo College, and Cal State Monterey Bay. Paul has always been involved in the arts since he was very young. After graduating CSUMB, he started a local small business called Monterey Bay Murals. Through his art and murals, Paul has brought a sense of pride for Watsonville and the surrounding areas with his iconic “The Ville” brand. The idea of “The Ville” and his art, through Paul is Family, positivity, unity, and community. Paul has brought the first ever Watsonville Community Mural Paint Day. For 5 years in a row before covid, Paul has led this event with volunteers, schools, colleges, and everyone from the community to go out and paint murals in an area where graffiti was an issue and paint murals in order to beautify the environment. He’s been an art activist since 2008, and has also volunteered and worked in many local city events. Paul is one of the current artist who has helped bring more art awareness to Watsonville. Paul is also an educator, he has over 15 years working in our school for Pajaro Valley Unified School District as an instructional assistant, Behavior Technician, and Art After School. Paul is always located every fridays at the Watsonville Farmers Market selling his original art and merchandise, he is always communicating and collaborating with the community. He is very positive and is always willing to help out with whatever he can. Paul wants to bring more fun to Watsonville. Paul also sits on the Santa Cruz County Arts Commission, Watsonville Parks and Recs Commission. He wants to represent Watsonville in a positive united way and bring more fun and opportunity to Watsonville and its Parks and Recreation.
